Problem: Ubermix is searching for the server located at Wheatland. Which causes a 5 minute boot-time for some machines when not at school.
Solution: Follow the simple instructions below to resolve the issue.
Step 1: On your student device press and hold (Ctrl + Alt + T) together to open up the Terminal.
Step 2: Copy or type the code below. Once you open the terminal press and hold (Shift + Ctrl + V) together to paste the code inside of the terminal. Press Enter to execute the command.
sudo apt purge umc-client -y
Step 3: Wait for the command to finish executing. Should only take 10-15 seconds. Once you see the typing cursor that means you are finished.
Step 4: Restart the laptop to verify the 5 minute boot issue has been resolved. (refer to this LINK if you don't know how to restart your student laptop)
*Note: Normal boot time is around 1 minute.*
